A sustained release drug delivery system comprising an inner core or reservoir that has ganciclovir, a first coating layer essentially completely covering the inner core and being permeable to the passage of the ganciclovir, a second coating layer covering at least 50% of the inner core and being impermeable to the passage of the ganciclovir, said second layer comprising an impermeable film and a impermeable disc of a different material to the film, a third layer essentially completely covering the second layer and allowed controlled passage of the ganciclovir. |
