METHOD FOR RECORDING DRIVE INFORMATION AND OPTICAL DISC

PURPOSE: A method for recording drive information and an optical disc are provided to record drive information by sets of a plurality of reliable physical clusters from a front part in sequence, and record addresses of the physical clusters recorded with the drive information to a disc definition structure of a defect processing area, thereby recording the drive information by using at least one of the reliable physical clusters. CONSTITUTION: In a method for recording drive information, drive information is sequentially recorded to reliable valid physical clusters from a front part of a drive area of an optical disc. The optical disc has a defect processing area to be recorded with addresses(21,22) of physical clusters respectively recorded with original valid drive information and copied drive information at predetermined positions. The drive information is recorded by sets of the plurality of valid physical clusters. When recording the drive information to the physical clusters, original valid drive information and copied drive information thereof are respectively recorded to two of the reliable valid physical clusters.
