PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic disk cartridge which does not damage a driving device or the magnetic disk cartridge its by misloading to the driving device. SOLUTION: In the magnetic disk cartridge 1 constituted by being provided with a disk-shaped magnetic disk media 17, a flat case 10 which has a window part 10w for inserting a magnetic head and which rotatably accommodates the magnetic disk media 17, a shutter 14 for opening/closing the window part 10w and a shutter driving member 14a for performing opening/closing operation of the shutter 14, the shape of the case 10 when seeing from one surface side and the shape thereof when seeing from another surface side are made to be approximately the same and thereby the case 10 can be loaded in the driving device with any surface as an upper side.
