PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA containing an introduced nucleic acid base analog having a phenyl group, suppressing the oxidative damage through one-electron oxidation reaction and the propagation of the damage and resistant to the oxidation through one-electron oxidation reaction. SOLUTION: The DNA containing a phenyl-containing nucleic acid base analog introduced into the DNA contains a purine deoxyribonucleotide residue containing a phenylguanine residue having a phenyl group introduced to the N2site of guanine. The DNA is produced by substituting the deoxyguanylic acid residue of the DNA with an N2-phenyldeoxyguanylic acid residue. The oxidation resistance of the DNA is increased by substituting the deoxyguanylic acid residue of the DNA with the N2-phenyldeoxyguanylic acid residue. The invention further provides a purine deoxyribonucleotide derivative containing a phenylguanine residue having a phenyl group introduced to the N2site of guanine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
