METHOD FOR SEPARATING AND DETECTING BASED ON SIZES OF MOLECULE, FINE PARTICLE, AND HIGH-MOLECULAR WEIGHT MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a high-molecular weight material. SOLUTION: A molecule, a fine particle, and a high-molecular weight material is separated by arranging an isolator with fine structure on a substrate to provide a sample to this separator. This separator comprises an opening, a separation slope, and a bottom. In a sectional shape when cutting with a plane parallelly to the width direction of the opening and vertically to an opening plane, the width of the opening is 0.05-100μm and depth from the opening to the bottom is 0.1-1000μm, and then a horizontal distance between the separation slopes gradually decreases as it heads for the bottom. An separation matter is detected via a milling face with mirror finish corresponding to the size of the isolator arranged at the end face of the substrate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
