The compact float device includes a small device made of floating material that can be used without modification on all fishing floats. The device is held in position on a float by a flexible line (5). The fishing lines passes through open orifices (2,3) that are closed by the flexible line so that when a fishing weight touches the bottom of the water the line is no longer held and the float rests suspended to the filament against the surface of the water.
