PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of a moving position of a stocker and to facilitate the movement control of the stocker. SOLUTION: The recording medium changer has a conveying mechanism for conveying a recording medium, a recording/reproducing section for recording information signals on or reproducing information signals from the recording medium, and also provided with a stocker having a plurality of recording medium storage sections arrayed in a layered manner and provided with a guided protrusion and movable in the arrayed direction of the plurality of recording medium storage sections, and a rotatable rotary cam 176, formed in nearly cylindrical shape or in nearly columnar shape, with a cam groove section 177 freely slidably engaged with the guided protrusion of the stocker formed on the outer peripheral face.
