PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional temperature controller for an electric carpet wherein a heat insulating material such as a cushion is locally mounted on the electric carpet, and the temperature of the part with the heat insulating material locally mounted thereon is abnormally raised to deteriorate a heater, shorten the life, and if things come to the worst, cause the disconnection of the heater. SOLUTION: This temperature controller for the electric carpet is characterized in having a timer measuring the energization time to the heater, and a temperature set change determination means changing over the set temperature of the heater 7 to a new set temperature lower than the set temperature after the energization time measured by the timer 2 passes a prescribed time.
