PURPOSE: A method for detecting a multi-user signal in real time for multi-user interference cancellation in a wireless communication system is provided to connect a Hopfield neural network, only applicable under white noise environment, with a tap delay circuit at the output ports of a rake receivers in order to consider the effects of frequency-selective fading. CONSTITUTION: In detecting a multi-user signal by using a Hopfield neural network(33), the Hopfield neural network(33) is combined with rake receivers(31) in order to cancel the effects of frequency-selective fading and multiple access interference. The rake receivers(31) to maximize a signal-to-noise ratio in order to improve the effects of frequency-selective fading cannot completely remove symbol-to-symbol interference in the case of the data of a high data rate. Accordingly, in order to solve both symbol-to-symbol interference and multi-user interference at the same time by using the Hopfield neural network(33), the output signals of a tap delay circuit(37) are used as the input signals of the Hopfield neural network(33).
