<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image printer, etc., capable of excellently printing each image, even when a plurality of images having different data formats coexist in one content to be printed. <P>SOLUTION: A description interpreting unit 101 identifies a format (Exif, JFIF, etc.), of image data contained in the content received from a host device 10. An image acquiring unit 103 acquires image data linked to the content from a printing content buffer 102 or an external DB 119. An image discriminating unit 104 discriminates the type of a received image file and notifies an image developing unit 105 of a discrimination result. The unit 105 decompresses the image data which are compressed. An image processing deciding unit 106 decides a parameter for image processing to be performed in an image processing unit 107.
