OPTICAL DISK AND METHOD FOR RECORDING DATA ON AND/OR REPRODUCING DATA FROM THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-density optical disk and a method for recording data on and/or reproducing data from the same for improving the reliability of recording data on and/or reproducing data from the high-density optical disc by ensuring the compatibility of a disk drive.

SOLUTION: The optical disk comprises: a recording area which has the data recorded in one or more physical clusters; a defective area in which a defect occurs before or during recording the data in the optical disk capable of recording and/or reproducing the data; and a recording end area having information indicating the end of recording recorded before the defective area. The method for recording data on and/or reproducing data from the optical disk comprises a step of recording the data indicating the end of recording before the defective area when the defective area occurs on the optical disk. Reference for processing the defective area in the high density optical disk for continuously recording the data on and/or reproducing data from the same is presented.
