<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility of an image after image data composition. <P>SOLUTION: Luminances and color differences of pieces D1, D2,..., Dn of mutually noncorrelative image data are detected to obtain their means, and luminance comparison and color difference comparisons corresponding to the composition position relation among the pieces D1, D2,..., Dn of image data are made; and luminance correction coefficients corresponding to the respective pieces of image data are determined according to comparison results and the respective pieces of image data are corrected.
