LANE DEVIATION DECIDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lane deviation deciding apparatus which can adequately decide the possibility that a vehicle deviates form a lane according to the lane width.

SOLUTION: A controller 16 detects a white line from the video signal from a CCD camera 11 to obtain the position of the white line based upon a vehicle and the lane width. The controller 16 compares the isolation separation between the vehicle and white line with a specified decision threshold to decide the possibility that the vehicle deviates from the lane. The controller 16 detects the width of the lane where the vehicle travels and adjusts the decision threshold according to the lane width.
