PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery whereof low temperature discharge characteristics and cycle life characteristics are enhanced. SOLUTION: Graphite is used for the negative electrode of this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, and ethylene-carbonate and chain carbonate are used for nonaqueous electrolyte. The rate of the volume of ethylene-carbonate to total sum volume of ethylene-carbonate and chain carbonate is set at a range of 20-50 volume %. 0.1-2 wt.% of tetraethylammonium fluoride-tetrakis (hydrofluoride) [(C2H5)4NF.4HF] is added to the nonaqueous electrolyte.
