PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for securing a gap between a floor material of a double floor and a wall surface and a gap between the floor material and a base board, and to provide spacer members for the double floor for use in the method. SOLUTION: In construction of the double floor, the first spacer member 20 having a U-shaped cross section is arranged at an edge 12e of a flooring 12A on a wall 13 side, to thereby secure the gap 13s between the flooring 12A and the wall 13. Then, the second spacer member 30 having an L-shaped cross section is inserted into the gap between an edge 12f of the flooring 12A on a partition wall 16 side and the partition wall 16 per se, to thereby secure the gap 16S between the flooring 12A and the partition wall 16. When the base boards 15, 17 are mounted on the wall, the size of the gap 15s between the flooring 12A and the base board 15 and the size of the gap 17s between the flooring 12A and the base board 17 are limited depending on the thicknesses of the first and second spacer members 20, 30, respectively.
