PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of monitoring a target even in rain, fog, and at night or dark place, and also capable of displaying quantitively and visually presence of an intruder or an intruding object. SOLUTION: A plurality of light transmitting/receiving parts 4 are disposed in a monitor area and comprise a camera 42 that receives laser beam reflected on a target after emitted from a laser radiation part 41, and a turn/tilt part 43 which turns and changes tilt of the laser radiation part 41 and the camera 42. A control/image processing part 14 transmits a control signal to the light transmitting/receiving part 4 and obtains an image information by calculating, for image process, a distance from the target based on the reception signal and laser radiation signal emitted from the light transmitting/receiving part 4. A display part 6 displays the image information acquired with the control/ image process part 14. A laser radar control apparatus 7 transmits a control signal to the turn/tilt part 43 based on the image information acquired with a plurality of laser radars while outputs a map display signal. A map display part 8 displays a map when receives the map display signal, and a recording part 9 records a monitor information acquired with the laser radar control apparatus. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
