A roller 1 is supported by a bearing 6 in a receptacle 4 containing liquid for treating textiles and is sealed by a stationary sealing ring 21 pressed by a spring 24 into contact with a rotatable sealing ring 20, both rings being arranged externally of the receptacle in a cuplike housing 11 and the stationary sealing ring being sealed to the housing by a diaphragm 22 to prevent the passage of liquid from the receptacle to the bearing. The spring 24 seats on a sheet metal ring 25 adjoining the outer race 7 of the bearing. Liquid may enter the seal chamber 26 by way of the clearance space 3 in the receptacle and a drain hole 28 is provided to remove any leakage from the seal and excess lubricant supplied to the bearing chamber. |
