PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to restrain the slackening or distortion of a diffusion plate by a second supporting element and keep a predetermined gap between a lamp cover and the diffusion plate by a first supporting element, thereby improving the reliability of an LCD panel and keeping the light supply uniformly. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a light supply assembly(200) and a liquid crystal display panel assembly(300) for displaying images corresponding to the light supplied from the light supply assembly. The light supply assembly has a lamp cover(220), a diffusion plate(230), and optical sheets(240). A predetermined gap is kept by a first supporting element mounted between the lamp cover and the diffusion plate to secure a uniform luminance distribution of light supplied to the LCD panel assembly. The first supporting element is in the conical shape with a diameter getting smaller toward the diffusion plate and has a bottom surface fixed to a bottom surface of the lamp cover. A plate-shaped second supporting element(260) is mounted between the diffusion plate and the first supporting element for covering the diffusion plate entirely. The second diffusion plate is formed with a transparent material harder and thicker than the diffusion plate to transmit the light projected from the lamp to the diffusion plate.
