PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure security, when starting up an application by an operation which is other than a manual operation. SOLUTION: An IP (Information Provider) server W transmits an e-mail to a mobile station MS. In the e-mail, start-up command tags for instructing a start up of a Java (R) application to the mobile station MS are described. When receiving the e-mail, the mobile station MS compares an originating source address of the e-mail with start up permission information described in an ADF (Application Descriptor File) of the Java application, of which the start up is instructed by the e-mail. The permission information is the originating source address of the e-mail for permitting the start up of the Java application. The mobile station MS starts up the Java application, only when there is agreement on the compared result. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
