PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foil type fluid bearing enhancing reliability of a top foil while utilizing a damping effect in a fluid film formed at a top foil outer periphery side. SOLUTION: The foil fluid bearing comprises a rotation shaft; a flexible top foil slide-contacting with the rotation shaft; an elastic support means for supporting the top foil from outer periphery; and a housing for accommodating these. A fluid feed means for injecting a high pressure fluid is provided between the top foil and the elastic support means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
