PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint material for exterior facing plates thin and rich in durability and having no occurrence of dew condensation or rust without adhering to a caulking compound. SOLUTION: The joint material 10 having a projection 11 on the central part thereof has sectional shapes consecutively providing flange sections 12 on both sides of the projection. The joint material 10 is mounted on the rear side of a joint 2 between the exterior facing plates 1, a function backing up the caulking compound 4 is performed. A material of the joint material 10 comprises a metal-made core 13 and a synthetic resin-made surface material 14 incompatible with the caulking compound, and the surface material 14 is integrally adhered to both sides of the core 13.
