PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation construction method by a steel pipe pile capable of facilitating a driving work by driving a steel pipe as it is and increasing the support strength of a steel pipe pile by constructing a large diameter part at the lower part. SOLUTION: A steel pipe pile 10 having a specified diameter and length is driven in the ground, and an excavating member 15 is inserted through the hollow hole of the steel pipe pile 10. A large diametral space is defined under the steel pipe pile, while widening an excavating blade 20 provided in the lower part of a rod member 16. The excavated earth is removed to the upper part through a screw member 17 together with pressurized air supplied through the rod member. After the excavating blade 20 has been uplifted, a hardener such as mortar is poured from a hole of the steel pipe pile 10 to integrate the support block with the lower part of the steel pipe pile 10.
