PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new plasticizer which is a mixture of isomeric isononyl benzoates for plastics, e.g. PVC, having an inexpensive raw material base and equal value or improved plasticizer characteristics, e.g. improved cold flexibility performances at a low viscosity level of, e.g. the corresponding plastisol and slight volatility. SOLUTION: In the mixture of the isomeric isononyl benzoates, nonyl alcohol obtained by saponifying the isomeric isononyl benzoates contains <10 mol% of 3,5,5-trimethylhexanol. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
