PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire and cable having excellent heat resistance and flexiblity. SOLUTION: An olefinic thermoplastic elastomer is used in an insulating layer covering an outer periphery of a conductor. The olefinic thermoplastic elastomer is a composition containing a crystalline polypropylene resin (A component) and olefinic copolymer rubber (B component) and is particularly preferably of a polymer type obtained by polymerizing the A component and B component stepwise in the same polymerization vessel by multi-step polymerization.
