PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further increase recording density by employing a plurality of magnetic head elements. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording head device 20 is constructed in such a manner that a plurality of magnetic recording head layers 21 in which magnetic recording head elements 28 manufactured by a thin-film process are stacked between two insulating layers 24, 24 are stacked on a nonmagnetic substrate (substrate made of a nonmagnetic material) 22, and all the magnetic recording head elements are formed by being shifted in a head width direction with respect to the stacking direction.
