PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for assisting a fallen person to escape, which enables the avoidance of the worst case such as the death of the person who falls into a river, an irrigation channel and an artificially constructed pond such as a pool, a reservoir and a retarding basin, by assisting him/her to crawl up a slope by himself/herself so as to escape. SOLUTION: This device for assisting the fallen person to escape enables the person, who falls into the pond A such as the pool, the reservoir and the retarding basin, to escape by himself/herself. A device body 1 is composed of a net body 1 which is formed like a grid with a prescribed size; the net body 1 is laid in such a manner as to cover the slope 10; the vertical length of the net body 1 is set so that an upper end can be located in the top 11 of the slope 10 and so that a lower end can be located in the toe 12 of the slope 10; the upper end is fixed to the top 11 by a proper means; a weight member 13 is provided at the lower end; and the net body 1 is prevented from being lifted from the slope 10.
