A recombinant adenoviral vector based on adenovirus serotype 35, 11, 26, 34, 48 or 49 comprising: A gene of interest; and At least one adenovirus capsid protein which is responsible for avoiding or diminishing pre-existing neutralizing activity against adenoviral elements by a host to which the gene of interest is to be delivered. Also covered are nucleic acids encoding said vector, and methods of constructing the same.
