PURPOSE: A protecting apparatus for a driver is provided to prevent a second brake pedal arm or a brake pedal from being contacted to the body of the driver and the driver from being injured by forcibly turning the second brake pedal arm and the brake pedal to the dash panel in pushing the brake booster inward at a collision. CONSTITUTION: A driver protecting apparatus comprises a first brake pedal arm(30) turning elastically by a pedal mounting bracket(11), a hinge(21) and a torsion spring(22); a second brake pedal arm(40) connected to the first brake pedal arm by the hinge and combined with a brake pedal(23) and a push rod(5a) of a brake booster(5) to press the push rod with turning to the dash panel in braking normally; a hydraulic pressure generator(50) installed in the dash panel by a fixing bolt(24) to generate hydraulic pressure with oil at a collision; and a pedal arm turning unit(70) installed to the first brake pedal arm by fixing bolts, connected to the hydraulic pressure generator by a hydraulic hose(60), and thread-connected to the second brake pedal arm to return the second brake pedal arm elastically with varying the length in normal operation and forcibly turn the second brake pedal arm to the dash panel with varying the length according to hydraulic pressure at a collision.
