PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for manufacturing a linear motion guide rail outstandingly reducing a processing time and a manufacturing cost and suitably used for a device carrying out a linear motion, and a linear motion guide device. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the linear motion guide rail and the linear motion guide device, a steel W is used, in which a surface carbon amount ratio is made to 0.8 or higher by annealing a material in a recarburization atmosphere. A rail track groove 20a of the linear motion guide rail 20 is not subjected to grinding processing and is molded only by rolling processing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
