摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a lubricating oil pump of a two-cycle engine capable of preventing insufficient lubrication by securing the sufficient and necessary quantity of lubricating oil in the low speed/low load operation range of the engine. SOLUTION: The solenoid-operated lubricating oil pump 17 feeds lubricating oil to parts of the engine by reciprocating a piston 35 by turning on/off an electric current to an electromagnetic solenoid 42. In the method of controlling the solenoid-operated lubricating oil pump 17 of the two-cycle engine, the piston 35 is driven at a driving frequency based on a frequency characteristic increased/decreased according to an operation condition while a current-carrying time every cycle to the electromagnetic solenoid 42 is set at a fixed maximum value when the operation condition of the engine is in a medium/high speed range or in a medium/high load range. On the other hand, the piston 35 is driven at a predetermined driving frequency for the low speed/low load while the current-carrying time every cycle to the electromagnetic solenoid 42 is set shorter than a fixed maximum value.
