PURPOSE: A method and system for providing a multimedia advertisement corresponding to the location of a mobile terminal is provided to offer a multimedia advertisement corresponding to the location of a mobile terminal and to discount the call charge according to the watching of the multimedia advertisement. CONSTITUTION: A system for providing a multimedia advertisement corresponding to the location of a mobile terminal is comprised of mobile terminals(100,150), BTSs(Base Transceiver Stations)(105,155), BSCs(Base Station Controllers)(110,160), MSCs(Mobile Switching Centers)(115,165), location-based advertisement service systems(130,180), MMSCs(Multimedia Messaging Service Centers)(125,175), and long message service centers(120,170). The location-based advertisement service systems(130,180) provide multimedia advertisements corresponding to the locations of mobile terminals, and present a charge discount service on the basis of advertisement watching. The MMSCs(125,175) transmit and receive all types of multimedia messages, such as images, E-mail, etc., breaking from the data centered on voice message and short messages. |
