METHOD FOR IMPROVING COLOR TONE OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL USING NEGATIVE ASSISTANT PULSE

PURPOSE: A method for improving color tone of a plasma display panel using a negative assistant pulse is provided, which applies an assistant pulse having a negative voltage to an address electrode during a sustain period. CONSTITUTION: According to the method for improving color tone by reducing Ne radiation during a sustain period in an AC type plasma display panel having a number of pixels comprising discharge cells which of each has the first and the second sustain electrode(X,Y) and an address electrode(Z), the first main discharge is generated by increasing the first sustain electrode to a sustain potential at the first time point(iii) while the address electrode maintains a reference potential. The address electrode is decreased from the reference potential to a negative potential at the second time point(iv) while the first sustain electrode maintains a sustain potential. The first sustain electrode is decreased to the reference potential at the third time point(v) while the address electrode maintains the negative potential. And the address electrode is increased to the reference potential from the negative potential at the fourth time point(vi) while the first sustain electrode maintains the reference potential and before the second sustain electrode is increased to the sustain potential.
