摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a range of travelling by utilizing the electric power generated by a motor/generator when an engine is started during travelling. <P>SOLUTION: In a calculation section 33a, vehicle speed VSP is decreased by vehicle speed corresponding to the electric power generated by the motor/generator with increase in vehicle speed VSP. Electric power Pst required for starting an engine is searched. In a calculation section 33b, electric power enough to allow travel utilizing electric power (=Pbo-Pst+Pbi) is calculated from Pst, power Pbo allowing a battery to discharge electricity and power Pbi allowing a battery to charge electricity. In a judgement section 33c, when (Pbo-Pst+Pbi) is compared with base electricity generation power tPeo corresponding to desired drive force according to the operation status, if tPeo<;(Pbo-Pst+Pbi), the battery is deemed as being charged enough to allow travel utilizing electric power, and a flag Fev to permit traveling utilizing electric power is set to '1', and desired engine output tPeo is also set to 0 because the engine cannot be operated. If tPeo&ge;(Pbo-Pst+Pbi), the battery is deemed as being not charged enough to allow travel utilizing electric power and Fev is set to '0', and desired engine output tPe is also calculated from tPeo and desired electric power tPc for charging and discharging by calculating (tPe=tPeo+tPc). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
