PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recoating optical fiber, which prevents the intrusion of air bubbles into a recoating resin in particular. SOLUTION: In the method of recoating optical fiber in which a recoating resin is introduced into both molds 11A and 11B to recoat the bare fiber part 1a of an optical fiber 1 with the recoating resin, the injection rate of the recoating resin to be injected into molding grooves 17 and 17 of the molds 11A and 11B is regulated to a rate, more preferably to≤6 mm/sec at which the air bubbles are not included into the resin by the injection of the resin and the intrusion of the air bubbles can effectively be suppressed by such injection rate.
