A plate for supporting ferrites to be sintered is formed from adjacent alumina bars or tubes 1, which are held together near their ends by extending through elongated slots 2 in transverse ceramic connecting beams 3. A silicaalumina cement or platinum metallizing paste may be used to retain the bars Or tubes 1 in the slots 2 and/or to join adjacent bars and tubes 1. An inert zirconia coating may be applied to the bars or tubes before or after they are joined to form the plate. Such plates, in use, may be stacked one on another; spacers being interposed between them.</p> |
