A low-molecular GIP function inhibitor ; and an obesity preventive or ameliorator based on GIP function inhibition. The active ingredient is a compound of the general formula: (I) wherein R1 represents hydrogen, a halogen, a nitro group or a cyano group; each of R2 and R3 may be hydrogen or a halogen, or hydrogen or a methoxy group, or R2 and R3 may form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring or pyrrole ring; and A represents nitrogen or C-R4, in which R4 may represent hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-6 alkyl group, -OR7, -NR8R9, -NHCO-R10 or -SO2-R11, or R4 may form, in cooperation with R3, a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring or pyrrole ring, each of R7, R8 and R9 representing hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-6 alkyl group, R10 representing, for example, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-6 alkyl group, and R11 representing, for example, a substituted or unsubstituted morpholyl group; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound.
