A control device is proposed for a drive motor (14) for moving an element, in particular a garage door, guided along a specific path between two end positions. A position sensor (21) on the track is used to generate a position reference signal. A rotary encoder (15) connected to the drive motor (14) supplies counting signals for a counting device (27). The position sensor (20) can be positioned at one of the end positions, a position signal from this position sensor (20) stopping the drive motor (14) and applying a first counter state, which can be fixed, to the counting device (27). The second counter state, reached on driving to the second end position, is transferred into a memory device (28) by actuating an operating element (22). In each case on reaching the stored second counter state, the drive motor (14) is stopped by means of a comparison device (29). By this means, only one of the end positions needs to be stored electronically, and the element which is guided along the path can be coupled to this path in any desired manner and nevertheless reliably attains the end position provided with the position sensor. <IMAGE> |
