FIELD: metallurgy; manufacture of anti-friction ingots for parts of machines working in sliding friction pairs. SUBSTANCE: proposed graphitized steel contains the following ingredients, mass-%: carbon, 1.4-1.6; silicon, 0.8-1.2; manganese, 0.4-0.6; copper, 3.5-7.0; chromium, 0.06-0.1; sulfur, <=0,05; phosphorus, <=0,05; the remainder being iron. Content of copper of 3.5 to 7.0% exceeding its limit of solubility in austenite at crystallization of melt in mold causes separation of copper inclusions at smooth distribution in volume. Content of graphitizing elements of silicon and copper promotes accelerated graphitizing. Introduction of chromium in the amount of 0.06-0.1% enhances wear-resistance of steel with no increase of time required for graphitizing annealing. EFFECT: improved anti-friction properties and wear resistance of steel. 1 tbl
