The tower frame (1) has a tubular structure (2) and tensioner cables (4) for stiffening the structure extending vertically inside it. The lower anchor point for each tensioner cable is offset by forty five degrees to the upper anchor point. The cables can have tension adjusters. The cables can extend through apertures in the wall of the tube to external tensioners.
