A stent (1) that is inserted into a sheath and delivered to a diseased part that to be treated. The stent is formed in a substantially tube-like body and has spring action with which the diameter of the tube-like body is shrinkable in the center axis (C) direction of the tube-like body. The stent is again expandable to an original diameter after the shrinkage. (A) The stent (1), when not inserted into a sheath, retains a bent form along its length direction, and (B) when inserted into the sheath, the stent (1) shrinks to its center axis (C) direction and is received in a substantially linear shape in the sheath by stretching substantially linearly along the length direction of the sheath (1). The stent can remarkably enhance safety and followability during delivery in an artery etc.
