The safety cover for a plug (2) for internal eal of a pipe (1) at one end (11) involves a covering device (31) with a length extent exceeding the inner diameter of the pipe. The cover device locates from the outside on the pipe end and is releasably connected with the plug. A central fixture device (33,34) is provided for the covering device for releasable connection to the plug in an axial position. The covering device in its intended position on the pipe end has through passage apertures to the pipe interior space between the plug and the covering device.
