[Also in Division C5] A process of dehydrogenating mono-olefines or alkylated aromatic hydrocarbons with steam at 570‹F to 1200‹F employs a catalyst of iron oxide, an alkaline compound of an alkali metal, chromium oxide and 0.05 to 10 percent by weight of a second Group VIII metal which hydrogenates oxides of carbon present from the reacting mixture providing heat requirements and reducing the partial pressure of the hydrogen to drive the dehydrogenation towards completion.</p> |
