<p>A process for producing an optically active carboxylic acid derivative (especially, 2R-propyloctanoic acid), characterized by the use of a microorganism belonging to the genus streptomyces; and a microorganism used in the process. This process is further characterized in that it is not necessary to use any expensive optically active compound (1) and a racemic alkylcarboxylic acid ester derivative as a starting material can be procured cheaply (2). It is a process suitable for industrial mass synthesis as compared with conventional processes.</p> |
