Fuel and air are fed to a burner (10) via fuel (14) and air feeds respectively. A fuel control valve (16) fits in the fuel feed and acts as a power controller for the burner. An additional adjusting valve (36) is downstream to the fuel control valve in a direction of flow to adjust fuel-air proportions at a preset air ratio.
