The tie bar has individual blocks connected via intermediate open continuous reinforcements. To construct a permanent way with two different gauges, one of the blocks (1) is lengthened and provided with a second rail support (4'') with associated clamp profiles. The rail fastening system has trapezoidal track profiles (7), which slide along the sides of rail foot (8) and track edges of rail supports (4,4',4'') and permit horizontal transverse movement. The track profiles have long bores, parallel to the track edges, for the fastener screws, which engage around the clamp profiles. This permits two different gauges (S1,2).
