An ion generator comprising a negative electrode as a focusing electrode having one end divided into at least two and being converged at at least a part thereof, and a zero electrode including conductors, wherein the negative electrode is disposed oppositely to the zero electrode and a large quantity of negative ions can be generated by applying a negative voltage to the negative electrode thereby generating corona discharge between the negative electrode and the zero electrode.
