A pharmaceutical composition with anti-neoplastic properties comprises (a) pemetrexed, preferably the disodium salt; (b) one or more antioxidants selected from monothioglycerol, L-cysteine, and thioglycolic acid; and (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, preferably saline solution. The composition is formulated as liquid for parenteral administration. A preferred formulation comprises an aqueous solution of pemetrexed (40 mg/ml) and monothioglycerol (2.4 mg/ml) wherein the pH is adjusted to 8.5 using sodium hydroxide. |
