The anti-theft circuit for a motor vehicle has an anti-theft switch (12) to control the starter motor (+DEM) and the vehicle electrical circuit power supplies. A motorized (34) lock operates a locking bolt (36). Sensors (62) detect the anti-theft circuit condition and switches operate to cut off power feed to the lock when the anti-theft circuit is in a release position and the switch is in a feed position for the engine ignition (+ALL).
