The tractive device tension installation (2) of a tractive gear (1) involves the tractive device (7) guided by deflector components (3) and driven by them. The tractive device is provided with at least one tension device (15) pivotable by at least one adjustment drive (18,19). By pivoting the tension device, the tension component (12) can be brought in and out of engagement with the tractive device and the tension component remains in effective connection with the at least one adjustment drive via at least one elastic component. The movement caused by the adjustment drive concerning the tension device can be so influenced that the tension device can be speedily applied to the tractive device.
