PURPOSE: An indoor unit of a split air conditioner is provided to prevent deformation and breaking in the course of separating a grill from a front panel. CONSTITUTION: A front panel(40) is combined with a grill(50) by a hinge axle(51) and a support piece(52) in the upper both sides of the grill(50) corresponding to two guide members(42)(43) and a stopper(44) of the front panel(40). The hinge axle(51) is put to move between the guide members(42)(43) and a combination position of the hinge axle(51) to the front panel(40) is set by the support piece(52) and the stopper(44). The upper guide member(42) is shorter than the lower guide member(43) to insert the hinge axle(51) and the support piece(52). A hook(53) is protruded in the lower both sides of the grill(50). An elastic piece(45) has a hooked jaw for the hook(53) in the lower both sides of the front panel(40) and is formed by cutting a portion of the front panel(40). An end of a free edge(47) of the elastic piece(45) is inserted into a hole(48) of the front panel(40).
